metrosexual (met.roh.SEK.shoo.ul) n. An urban male in tune with his sexuality, having a strong aesthetic sense that eschews society's usual taboos on excessive male grooming, and instead takes the act to an extreme and makes it an art form, sparing no dime in on his appearance and lifestyle.
The straight metrosexual male proudly partakes in activities that used to be derogatorily applied to homosexuals, and is said to be completely in touch with his feminine side. Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Justin Timberlake are just a few examples. Soccer icon, David Beckham, for example, has been known to paint his fingernails.
In fact, more than being in touch, the metrosexual is not afraid toe mebrace his feminine side.
The etymology of the word is fairly straightforward. "Metro" signifies the metropolitan, urban lifestyle, while the latter part indicates a heightened aesthetic sense, confident and at peace with his sexuality, and not constrained by society's imposed limitations.

Do people mistake you for being gay?
"Yeah. It gets annoying but I've realized it happens when I am here. If they have nothing else to say about you, they'll just make up something. I guess it's part of being, sort of a celebrity. I don't think I am (a celebrity) but I guess some people consider me as one. I guess it's part of the game. I like women only."
